With de-embedding adapters, comparable precision to calibration kits can be achieved at a fraction of the cost. First a calibration is done at the reference plane of the VNA cable. To measure a DUT with 4.3-10 interface, a HUBER+SUHNER AG de-embedding adapter is used between VNA cable and the DUT. The influence of the adapter can be considered by loading the S-Parameter of the de-embedding adapters into the NVA. The S-Parameter (supplied by H+S AG via E-Mail, CD or USB device) is then mathematically removed from the DUT measurements. This method is explained in the following example.
